Marinda Hollar
Program Director, Legal Services Coordination

Marinda Hollar brings a diverse and global perspective to her role as the Director of Legal Services Coordination at United Community Housing Coalition, where she has been a key team member for over three years. In her current role, Marinda is primarily responsible for the Right to Counsel program, which ensures that low-income Detroit residents can access free legal advice or representation when facing eviction. She works closely with the City of Detroit to optimize program regulations and relays important updates to all legal service provider program partners. Marinda also prepares and reviews monthly Right to Counsel reports, manages sensitive client information from income verification documents, and assists with strategic planning to ensure that UCHC meets its grant funding requirements while serving its clients effectively. Before taking on this leadership role, Marinda served as a Legal Assistant for a year and a half, followed by an additional year and a half as a Legal Assistant Supervisor. Her dedication to Detroit residents and her commitment to housing justice shines through in her daily work. Before UCHC, Marinda served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in East Java, Indonesia, and worked with the International Rescue Committee, where she supported refugee students through the college application process. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish, with a minor in Nonprofit Management from Boise State University. Also, she is fluent in Spanish and Indonesian, further enhancing her ability to connect with and advocate for the diverse communities she serves.
